WHAT IS AUTOLOGOUS FAT TRANSFR?
Autologous fat transfer is an outpatient/in-office minimally invasive procedure that removes fat, through aspiration with a syringe or a fat aspiration device, from one part of your body, usually area with less fat desired presence, and injection of the aspirated fat into another part with intension to restore volume or improve shape and skin texture. Fat harvested from an individual, transferred, and placed at the desired site has most of the characteristics of an ideal filler. It is biocompatible, versatile, stable, long-lasting, and natural-appearing. As a matter fact, fat seems to be the safest of all the fillers used. Fat can provide long-lasting, natural-appearing structural changes. In most cases, the results can last up to 7 to 10 years, or even longer. Fat placed stably maintains its shape and consistency over time and has every indication of permanence in terms of results.
Autologous fat transfer has been used successfully for decades in the medical field for butt augmentation, breast augmentation, and as a natural filler in hand contouring, facial contouring, and other body parts contouring procedures.
Few side effects have been attributed to fat transplantation. Temporary swelling and minor bruising at the recipient site and minor tenderness at the donor site have been described.
Benefits of Fat As A Filler To Patients In Body Contouring
Bottom Line:
-Fat is immediately introduced to correct a variety of deficiencies.
-Less invasive than a face lift procedure, long lasting 7yrs or more.
-Procedure can be performed in outpatient center or office under local anesthesia.
-No unnatural texture of the re-injected fat.
-No foreign body reaction concerns, no possible disease transmission
-Relatively inexpensive especially when multiple syringes of dermal fillers or other synthetic fillers are needed.
Fat is a natural filler with potentially permanent results. Due to presence of estrogen receptors in fat cells, it provides better tone and texture to skin where introduced. This ultimately eliminates the need for collagen injections, cadaver, or synthetic fillers.

Common Areas Of Fat Injection On The Face
Forehead. It makes the forehead round and full if the forehead is partially dent or low. It naturally connects forehead and nose line with nice volume and makes the face look sophisticated.
Frontal cheek. If under the eye or frontal cheek is dent, the eyes look hollow and sick. Fat injections make the face look bright and cheerful.
Jaw lines. If the jaw lines are uneven and jaw bone is exposed or asymmetry, fat injection can make the jaw line even and balanced.
Cheeks. When the cheeks do not have fat, the cheekbones look more prominent. The patient may look older and give a very strong impression. Fine fat cells can greatly enhance the cheek volume and make the patient look younger.
Around the nose. Due to the sinking of nasolabial folds around the nose, the mouth looks like it is protruding even more and the regions around the nose seem very hollow. In this case, fat transplant can give the necessary volume and brighten the face.
In summary, primary areas of facial autologous fat treatment include the
-Midface: infraorbital region (which is the major support area of the eyelid and face)
-Anterior and lateral cheek
-Brow and upper eyelid
-Prejowel sulcus
-Mandibular angle.
-The lateral jawline
-The temporal fossa with the lateral eyebrow
-Perioral region (lips, nasolabial fold, and prejowel),
-The glabella region
Proper augmentation of the midface also blends into the lateral eyebrow, the anterior and inferior temple, and the submalar regions.

Post–Care Instructions To Patients After An Autologous Fat Transfer Procedure:

-Treated Area Care Keep steri-strips on at aspiration point.
-You may wear makeup with sunblock protection shortly.
-Stay out of the sun until redness and bruising subsides (usually 48 hours).
Do not smoke, as smoking delays healing and increases the risk of complications.
