Cosmetic Vascular Laser Treatment of Reticular and Spider Leg Veins: Before and after 2 treatment sessions
Cosmetic Laser therapy is effective in the elimination of unwanted usually visible, blood vessels, broken capillaries, and redness in the skin. Note that a series of 2 to 6 sessions spaced several weeks apart is typically needed for optimal clearance.

Cosmetic vascular laser treatment

Cosmetic vascular laser treatment uses focused light energy to target and eliminate unwanted, usually visible, blood vessels, broken capillaries, and redness in the skin.

Vascular Lesion Treatments. How It Works

The laser emits a specific wavelength of light absorbed by hemoglobin (the red pigment in blood). The laser beam is absorbed by hemoglobin, but the real target is the vessel wall, achieved through thermal transfer. Selectivity ensures that the thermal effect of the absorbed laser beam is limited to the vessel and surrounding structures are spared. The light energy converts to heat, which safely collapses and seals the targeted vessel without harming surrounding tissue, and the body naturally reabsorbs the remnants of the closed vessel over the following days to weeks.

NOTE: Exposure times are longer than the thermal relaxation time of targeted blood vessels. Heat transfers from vessel to wall. Once the vessel wall reaches a high enough temperature (app. 75° C), the collagen structure is modified, the vessel wall coagulated and the blood vessel destroyed.
