Skin Rejuvenation with PRF and Microneedling

Overview  
Skin rejuvenation with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and microneedling is a cosmetic 
procedure that is growing in popularity in field of aesthetic medicine. It utilizes topical application of patient’s own processed blood, concentrated in growth factors, and microneedling procedure to boost collagen production. This combo therapy targets fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin tone, and dull skin texture  
Different physicians will perform PRP and microneedling in different manners:  
• Inject PRP and save enough PRP from the treatment to use as a topical lubricant to 
the microneedling.  
• Use PRP as a topical solution and microneedle as much of the product as possible by pushing the product through the skin.

PRP Preperation
PRP requires whole blood sample, that was taken from a patient, to be placed into a centrifuge, where the blood is then processed, to help separate the blood into distinct layers. Platelet-rich plasma is spun in a centrifuge at a high speed, which effectively causes all the heavier cells in the blood, such as white blood cells and stem cells, to collect in the bottom part of the test tube and allows the lighter platelets and plasma to collect in the top part. The platelets and plasma are then collected from the upper part of the test tube and either injected into, or topically applied on the desired tissue. 
The patient's own concentrated blood platelets helps to accelerate healing in injured joints, tendons, skin, and hair follicles.  

How Does Microneedling Help in Skin Rejuvenation?
Microneedling is a Collagen Induction Therapy. Tiny needles are used to penetrate the skin, creating superficial wounds. This process leads to stimulation of collagen and growth factor production, leads to stronger collagen and elastin. Dermis contracts for more youthful, firmer skin
